We’ve changed our operating name from Fair Care Labs to NDWA Labs.
Fair Care Labs was created as the innovation arm for the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and we’ve spent the last three years experimenting with ways to make worker better for domestic workers. Originally, we were very focused on the caregiving workforce, and the name “Fair Care” reflected our goal: fair work for caregivers.
However, over the last few years our work has expanded beyond caregivers, specifically looking at ways we can make work better for cleaners, including Alia - our initiative to help cleaners access benefits - and our work to promote a Living Wage for cleaners.
We also wanted to make our affiliation with the National Domestic Workers Alliance clearer. While we remain separate organizations structurally and are engaging in very different strategies, we are working towards the same goal: respect, dignity and raising standards for domestic workers.
Work is changing, but we haven’t (just our name.) Same team, same mission, new name.
We hope you have a good work day today.
