Domestic Worker Research Explorer

The Domestic Worker Research Explorer is a database that captures and systematizes the existing body of research on the domestic work sector. This research includes but is not limited to: peer reviewed papers, program reports, working papers, case studies, and philanthropic reports. The aim of this site is to create a space for domestic workers, advocates, policymakers, funders and members of the press to easily access research on the domestic work sector. 

The Domestic Worker Research Explorer is a project of NDWA Labs, the social innovations partner of the National Domestic Workers Alliance.

Please note that this site does not serve as a complete representation of the literature on domestic work but rather as a starting point for exploration of this research. The database will continue to capture and integrate new research and published work as they are produced. If you would like to contribute published work to this database, please submit your request to admin@ndwalabs.org.

Criteria for submission is as follows:

  • Must be research on domestic work that mentions domestic workers in a substantial way;

  • Must reflect research conducted with documented methodology; 

  • Must be accessible to the public via a hyperlink or a downloadable document;
